We are based on the first floor of Haroon House, right in the Fort area. If you know Mumbai, you know how packed and historic this neighborhood is. Adel International has been operating from this office for quite a while. It’s one of those old buildings with high ceilings and narrow hallways. We spend our days mostly on the phones or dealing with paperwork and shipments. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication with different people. The office isn't very big, and it’s usually piled with files and samples of whatever we are dealing with at the moment. Downstairs, the streets are always humming with people and tea stalls. We don’t have a big storefront since most of our work happens through calls and meetings. It’s a busy environment, and sometimes the lift in the building is a bit slow, so we end up taking the stairs. We aren't trying to be some massive global firm; we just handle our specific trade and look after our regular contacts. It can be a bit chaotic during peak hours when everyone is trying to get things moved before the day ends. We’ve grown accustomed to the rhythm of Fort. It’s a place where work feels very grounded, even if we are dealing with things going far away. We just stay focused on the tasks at hand and keep things moving. There is always a new document to sign or a call to take.
