Duqaa Handicrafts

Duqaa Handicrafts is based over at Singh Estate in Kandivali East. It's more of a workshop than a proper office, to be honest. We have materials scattered around, like wood and fabric, depending on what we are working on that week. Number 3 is where we spend most of our daylight hours. The air usually smells like sawdust or paint, which we don't mind. It’s a bit dusty, but that’s what happens when you make things by hand. We aren't a factory with machines doing all the work. It’s just a few of us using our hands and some basic tools to create stuff. Sometimes a piece doesn't turn out quite right, so we have to start over. That’s the frustrating part, but it's part of the process. Kandivali East is a busy area, but our little corner in Singh Estate is relatively quiet. We like it that way because it lets us focus on the details. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most people find us because they saw something we made for a neighbor or a friend. It's a slow way to grow a business, but it feels more honest to us. We just want to keep making things that people find useful or nice to look at in their homes. The workspace is cluttered, but we know where everything is.
