We've been here at Shop 23/B in Arun Bazaar for a good while now. Most people know us because we’re right near Friendship Saree Center. It’s a busy spot in Santacruz West. Usually, the morning starts with opening the shutters and dusting off the racks. We handle a lot of different dupattas. Sometimes the colors get everywhere when we're showing them to people. The bazaar can get really loud, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. We just keep things simple here. If you're walking around Santacruz and find yourself near the station side, that’s where we are. It’s not a big fancy place, just a regular shop with a lot of fabric. My cousin helps out when it gets crowded. We keep the stock piled up so we can find what someone asks for, though sometimes it takes a minute. The light in the shop isn't the brightest, but it works for seeing the patterns. We’ve seen the market change a bit over the years, but our spot stays the same. People come in, look at the stuff, and we chat about the weather or the traffic outside. It's just a normal day-to-day business for us. Nothing too complicated about it. We just open up, do our work, and head home when the market closes up for the night. Our neighbors are nice enough, and we all help each other out with change or watching the shop for a bit when one of us has to grab lunch.
