We are over at 5 Dinar Shopping Centre, which is right across from City Plaza in Timaliwadi, Santacruz West. The name on the door is Kalakruti Arts Pvt Ltd. Even though it says private limited, it’s really just a few of us working together in this space. Santacruz West is a busy part of the city, and being in the shopping centre means we see a lot of different people. Our spot is pretty easy to find once you are near City Plaza. We spend our days mostly surrounded by the materials we use for our work. It’s often a bit messy, with things piled up on desks, but we know where everything is. The lighting in the shop isn't the best, but we make do with what we have. We don't have a fancy reception desk or anyone to answer phones in a professional way. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just says hello and helps out. We’ve been here for a good amount of time, seeing shops around us open and close. Timaliwadi has a specific feel to it, and we’ve become part of that fabric. We take our lunches together sometimes or just grab something from the vendors downstairs. It’s a lot of work keeping things moving, but we enjoy the routine of it. We just focus on getting our stuff done and keeping the shop in order.
