U S Pizza

U S Pizza is located at No 7 in the State Bank of Patiala Complex, over in Vasantha Nagar, Palanganatham, Madurai. We are right across the road from Jayam Theatre, which is a big help when people are trying to find us for the first time or meeting up with friends. The bank complex is a busy spot during the day with people coming and going for their errands, and then the theatre brings in more people in the evenings and on weekends. It gets pretty hot here in Madurai, so we have the fans and the air conditioning going as much as we can to keep the place comfortable for everyone inside. Our kitchen has the big pizza ovens that take up a lot of space, and they definitely add to the heat when they are running at full speed. We spend our time tossing dough and getting the toppings ready for the orders that come in throughout the day. It’s not a very fancy setup, just a regular pizza shop where you can get something to eat. We have some seating for people who want to stay and eat their meal here, but a lot of folks just pick up their boxes and head out to their cars. The staff is mostly local people who live nearby in the area. We don't have any corporate scripts or polished lines. We just talk to people normally and get their food out as fast as we can. It’s a lot of routine work, but we like being part of the neighborhood here.
