Archana Restaurant

We are located right on the bypass road here in Madurai, specifically at Kalavasal. If you know the Theni Main Road, you probably see us every day. It gets pretty loud outside with all the buses and lorries going past, but inside we just keep things moving. We’ve been at No 2 for a good while now. The kitchen starts early because there is always something to prep before the doors open. It isn’t a fancy place with lots of decorations or anything. We have basic tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. The floor gets swept a few times a day but with the dust from the road, it’s a constant job. Usually, it's just us and a couple of helpers making sure the food is ready when people come in hungry. We see a lot of travelers who are just passing through town and need a quick break from driving. Then there are the locals who live nearby and just want a meal without any fuss. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the afternoons, so it can get warm, but we have fans going. It’s just a regular spot where the pots are always clanking and someone is usually washing dishes in the back. We don’t do anything special, just keep the doors open and the stove lit until we close up for the night.
