If you know Madurai at all, you know how busy Simmakkal gets. We are right on Tamil Sangam Road, which is basically in the middle of all that action. It’s a bit of a maze around here with all the shops and people walking by. We are at No 57/1, and the Amizhthini Shopping Complex is just a short walk away. Most of the people who come in are either locals doing their shopping or folks who work in the nearby offices. It’s a lively spot, especially in the evenings when the street lights come on and everyone is out and about. Sometimes the noise from the traffic is a bit much, but that is just part of being in Simmakkal. We’ve been here for some time now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The Tamil Sangam Road is always full of surprises, from parades to just everyday street life. Our place isn't too hard to find if you look for the shopping complex first. We don't do anything too complicated, just cooking the food we know and keeping the tables clean for the next person. The staff usually stays busy through the lunch rush, and then things settle down for a couple of hours before the dinner crowd starts coming in. It’s a solid little spot for anyone who finds themselves in this part of town and needs a break from the heat.
