Our place is located in the Railway Colony area of Madurai, right on T B Road. We are part of the Weshtern Park Hotel at No 4. If you know the Mahapoopalayam area, you probably know the railway gate. We are right opposite that, so we see the trains passing and the gates going up and down all day long. It’s a busy corner of town. Being so close to the station means there are always people moving around, looking for a place to sit down and eat something. The atmosphere in Railway Colony is pretty specific—it’s got that old-school vibe. We’ve been operating here for a bit, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the trains. The staff usually knows when the big arrivals are because the street gets crowded all of a sudden. It’s not a quiet library or anything; it’s a working part of the city. We have locals who come in every day and travelers who are just passing through between trains. The dining room is straightforward, nothing over the top. We just make sure there’s enough tea and food for everyone who stops by. Sometimes the traffic at the railway gate makes it a bit tricky to cross the road, but most people manage just fine. It’s a handy spot if you’re waiting for a ride or just want to watch the city move while you have a meal.
