Sree Mohan Bhojanalay

We are located at 33 Dhanappa Mudali Street in Madurai, which is right across from Hotel Temple View. This is a very old part of the city, and the streets are quite narrow and busy. You can always see people walking towards the temple or going about their shopping. Sree Mohan Bhojanalay is a very simple eating house. We don't have air conditioning or fancy furniture, just the basic stuff you need to sit down and eat a meal. My family and I have been doing this for a long time. We wake up early to start the cooking because everything is made fresh for the day. The heat in the kitchen can be quite a lot, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a big printed menu; we just serve what we have prepared for lunch or dinner. Most of our customers are the local shopkeepers and workers from the street. They aren't looking for anything fancy, just a plate of food that tastes like home. We don't spend any money on advertising or making the place look corporate. It’s just an honest little bhojanalay in a busy part of Madurai. Sometimes the street gets so crowded that it’s hard to even get through the front door, but we like the energy of the place. We just focus on our pots and pans and making sure everyone gets fed.
