Sivaparvathi Restaurant

You’ll find Sivaparvathi Restaurant inside the M R International Hotel on Dhanappa Mudhali Street. We are right in the heart of Madurai City, specifically at No 61 & 62. Being so close to the Central Bus Stand and the Central Cinema Theatre means there is always something going on outside. Madurai is a city that never really sleeps, and our street is a good example of that. We get a lot of hotel guests, of course, but plenty of locals come in too. The dining room is fairly large, which is good because it gets very busy during the afternoon lunch hour. We don’t use any fancy tablecloths or expensive decorations. It’s a practical space designed for eating. The kitchen is always busy, especially with the steam from the large rice cookers filling the air. Our staff is a group of hardworking people who have been around for a long time. They know the regulars by name and what they usually like to eat. We deal with the heat of Madurai by keeping the fans running constantly, though it still gets warm when the room is full. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stand, but not too far. We’ve been part of this hotel setup for years, serving simple meals to anyone who wanders in from the busy Madurai streets. It’s just a normal, busy restaurant trying to keep up with the daily rush of the city.
