Pandian Lodge

We are situated at No 13 on Vengalakadai Street, right in the middle of Madurai. Raju Mahal is just nearby, so we get a lot of people passing through this area all the time. Being a lodge, we see a lot of different travelers. Some stay for a night, others for longer. The building is an older one, but it’s sturdy and serves its purpose well. Madurai can get incredibly hot, so we spend a lot of time making sure the rooms stay as comfortable as possible for our guests. It’s a busy street outside, filled with shops and people going about their business. We don’t have a big lobby or anything like that. It’s just a counter and some stairs leading up. People come here because it’s a practical place to stay. We handle the laundry, sweep the floors, and keep the keys organized. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or a light bulb flickers, but we fix things as they happen. It’s just me and a few others working here, making sure the gates are locked at night and opened early in the morning. We’ve been here at 625001 for quite some time now. It’s a simple life, meeting people from all over who are visiting the city. We aren’t trying to be anything we’re not. We just provide a room on Vengalakadai Street. Most of our guests are simple folks looking for a place to rest their heads.
