Our place, Mahizh, is located at No 166 on the By Pass Road in Ellis Nagar, Madurai. We are right next to the Black Forest Bakery, which is a good landmark if you’re looking for us. Madurai is a city where people really know their food, so we don't try to do anything too fancy. We just focus on a few local dishes that we know how to make well. The restaurant isn't very big, and it can get a bit hot inside when the afternoon sun hits the By Pass Road. We have a few fans going, but it’s still a local spot, not a luxury one. The people who work here are all from the neighborhood, and we’ve all been working together for a long time. We don’t have a professional manager or a marketing strategy. We just open the doors in the morning and see who comes in. Sometimes it's busy with people traveling through Ellis Nagar, and other times it's just a few regulars sitting and chatting. We keep the prices low because we want people to be able to eat here every day if they want to. The tables are simple and the plates are basic. We don’t use any promotional language because the food speaks for itself. It’s just a small, honest business run by people who live and work in Madurai.
