Wholesale Electronics

We’re located right in the middle of the Main Bazar at Patlikuhl. You’ll find us as part of the Gemini Infotel building. It’s a busy spot, especially when the morning trucks arrive with new stock. We mainly deal with wholesale, so the shop is usually full of cardboard boxes and plastic wrapping. It’s not the neatest place you’ll ever see, but we know where everything is kept. From small wires to bigger components, we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves. Most of our customers are other shop owners from the smaller villages around the Kullu district. They come in once a week to restock their own shelves. My cousin and I run the place, and it’s a lot of lifting and carrying. Some days the dust from the street gets everywhere, but that’s just part of being in the bazar. We don’t do much fancy advertising because people around here already know where we are. We open early when the sun starts hitting the mountains and stay open until it gets dark. It’s practical work. We spend a lot of time checking invoices and making sure the counts are right. It’s a simple operation and we like being right in the thick of the market activity. Sometimes we have a tea with the other owners when things quiet down in the afternoon. It’s just how things go in the bazar.
