Devidyar Restaurant

Devidyar Restaurant is located right by the Hotel Devidyar in Manali. We are quite close to the Hadimba Devi Temple, which means we get a lot of people walking by on their way to see the sights. The air up here smells like pine trees and wood smoke most of the time. Our restaurant isn't very large, but it’s got enough room for folks to sit down and escape the mountain chill. We keep things pretty basic in the kitchen. We make mostly local dishes and some standard favorites that travelers seem to like. The windows often fog up when it’s cold outside and the stove is going. It’s a family-run kind of vibe. You might see one of us sitting at a corner table doing accounts or just taking a break with a cup of chai. We don't have a fancy uniforms or a head chef with a tall hat. It’s just us. The furniture is made of wood and fits the mountain setting. Sometimes the electricity goes out when there’s a storm, but we have candles and keep going. It’s part of living in the Himalayas. We don't put on a show for anyone. If you want a warm meal near the temple, we are here. It’s a simple, honest little place that does its job every day. The staff mostly comes from the village just down the road.
