Zam Zam Restaurant & Caterer

This place is tucked away at 9/1 Noor Ali Lane in the Entally area. It is a bit of a narrow lane, but people find their way here for the food. We do two things mainly: we serve food here and we also cater for local events. The catering side keeps us very busy on weekends and holidays. We have big aluminum containers that we use to transport the food to weddings or small parties nearby. In the restaurant, the setup is quite modest. We have a few tables and a counter where people pay. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are more focused on the kitchen work. We cook a lot of rice and meat dishes. Our biryani is something we make every single day because it sells well. The helpers are usually busy chopping onions or cleaning the large pots. We use a lot of spices that we get from the local market. It is not a fancy dining experience. Most of our customers are people from the neighborhood who don't want to cook at home that day. Sometimes we get orders for fifty or a hundred people at once. That is when it gets really chaotic in the back. We just try to get the food delivered on time. We have been doing this for many years now. It is a family-run type of thing. We don't have a big corporate structure. Just us and a few workers.
