Waylink Guest House & Banquet

Waylink Guest House & Banquet is located at 1625/A on Rajdanga Main Road. We take up the 3rd and 4th floors of the building, which is right across from where Siemens is in Kasba. It’s a busy area in Kolkata, so there is always a lot of movement outside. I spend my time mostly between the guest rooms and the banquet hall. We get a lot of people booking the hall for weddings or family parties. It can get pretty chaotic when there’s a big event going on, with people running up and down the stairs and the elevators always full. The 4th floor has a bit of a view of the city roofs, which is alright when you have a minute to breathe. I’ve been part of the staff here for a couple of years now. Keeping a guest house clean is a lot of work, especially with people coming and going at all hours. We don't have a giant staff, so everyone chips in with whatever needs doing, whether it’s changing sheets or helping with the catering. The traffic on Rajdanga Main Road can be a nightmare during rush hour, so we tell guests to plan ahead. It’s just a regular place providing a spot for people to sleep or celebrate. Nothing more, nothing less. We just try to keep the rooms decent and the hall ready for the next booking. Every day brings a different set of travelers or local families.
