Vegihub

Vegihub is located at number 1 on Heysham Road, which is also called Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani. We are right opposite the Philips Service Centre and near the Elgin Post Office. If you know this part of the city, you know it has a very specific feel to it. It’s a bit tucked away but still busy. We handle a lot of vegetables here, and the work starts way before most people are even awake. We have to get to the main markets to pick out the stock and then bring it back here to sort through. Kolkata weather can be a real pain sometimes, with the humidity and the sudden downpours that turn the streets into a mess. Our shop isn't big, but we make the most of the space we have. We don't really bother with big signs or flashy lights. Most people find us because they live nearby or work at the post office or the service centre. We have our regulars who come in every day and know exactly where everything is kept. It’s a lot of manual labor, carrying crates and bags back and forth. We don't have a corporate structure or anything like that. It is just a small local operation where we try to keep things moving. Some days are better than others, but we just keep showing up and doing the same routine. It’s just how things are on Heysham Road for us.
