Utsav Restaurant

Our restaurant is right on Manoharpukur Road in Kalighat, which is a very old and busy part of Kolkata. We are directly opposite the Basushree Cinema, which is a famous old building. The Jatin Das Park Metro station is also very close by, so there are always people walking past our door. The area has a lot of history and it feels very lived-in. Our place isn't big or shiny. It has that typical Kolkata feel to it. We serve a lot of people who are just coming from the metro or heading to the cinema. The sound of the trams and the traffic on Satish Mukherjee Road is something we hear all day long. We spend our mornings getting the kitchen ready and making sure the drinking water is filled. It is a lot of routine, but it keeps us busy. We don’t have a manager in a suit. We just have people who know how to cook and serve. The walls have some marks on them and the furniture is simple wood. It is an honest place to get a meal without any fuss. Sometimes it gets really crowded and people have to wait, but nobody seems to mind much. We just keep doing what we do every day, right here in the 700026 area. It’s our little corner of the city.
