Thara Mahal

Thara Mahal is located over at numbers 16 and 18 on Park Side Road. We’re pretty close to Deshapriya Park and the Lake Market, which are busy spots around here. It’s a good neighborhood to be in, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. The building itself has some character, even if it’s not brand new or anything. We don’t use any fancy marketing talk to get people in the door. Most folks find us because they live nearby or they're walking through the market area. We keep the place running with a small crew of people who have been here for years. It’s not a corporate setup with a lot of rules; we just handle things as they come up. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or we need to repaint a wall, but we just deal with it ourselves. It’s a practical space. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just provide the space and the service for whatever event or gathering is happening. It’s a lot of manual work, moving chairs around and making sure everything is ready for the day. We’ve grown used to the rhythm of the neighborhood, the sounds of the park, and the traffic on Park Side Road. It’s just our way of life here at the Mahal. We keep it simple and honest because that is what works best for us.
