T Balaji Restaurant

T Balaji Restaurant is at 11, Dr S P Mukherjee Road in Kolkata. We are near the Bengal Shoe House, which is a landmark most people in the 700028 area know. Our building is old, like many others on this road. We have been here for a while. Every day starts with the same routine of opening the shutters and setting things up. It’s a busy street, so there is always noise from the cars and people walking by. We have some benches and tables inside. The paint on the walls isn't brand new, but we keep everything tidy. People come in from the neighborhood or after they finish shopping nearby. We don’t do any big advertising or fancy things. We just stay at our spot and cook. It’s a local business through and through. The staff lives nearby, and we know many of the faces that walk through the door. Sometimes it’s quiet, and we just sit and talk until a customer comes. Kolkata is a crowded city, and Dr S P Mukherjee Road is no different. We just provide a place where someone can sit down for a bit. There isn't a long story behind it. We needed a place to work, and this shop at number 11 was available. We keep the stove going and make sure there’s enough water and tea. It's just a normal restaurant doing its thing every day.
