Sweet Corner Restaurant

We are over on Durganagar Station Road in the Rabindra Nagar area of Kolkata. It stays pretty busy around here because of the station. People are always rushing back and forth to catch their trains or coming home after a long day at work. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The kitchen gets hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months when the humidity in Bengal is really something else. We start early in the morning, getting things ready before the first big crowd shows up. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time parking on this road because it gets narrow with all the rickshaws and people walking by. It’s just how it is in this part of town. We spend a lot of time cleaning the counters and making sure everything is where it should be. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we all know the local shortcuts and which days the market is going to be packed. We don’t have any fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s just a regular place where you can sit down for a bit. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a little noise, but we got used to it. We keep the doors open to let some air in, though that means we hear all the honking from the street. It’s a loud neighborhood, but it’s home for us. We just keep doing what we do every day.
