Step In China Restaurant is located at 7 B, right across from the Elgin Rd Shoppers Stop and the Inox theater. We are on Allenby Road, which is also called Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani by some. The 700020 area is always moving, so there is usually a lot of noise and people outside. We opened up here because it seemed like a good spot where people could get a meal after shopping or seeing a movie. It’s not a very big place, but we keep it tidy. The kitchen takes up a good chunk of the space because that’s where all the work happens. We focus on getting the dishes right without making a big fuss about it. We’ve been serving the local crowd for a bit now, and we recognize many of the faces that walk through the door. It’s just a normal restaurant, nothing too flashy. We handle the cooking, the serving, and the cleaning ourselves mostly. Sometimes the street outside gets really crowded, especially on weekends, but inside it’s just us doing our usual routine. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just put out the sign and wait for people to come in. If you are ever near the Shoppers Stop on Elgin Road, you can find us pretty easily. We are usually here until late evening. It’s a practical place for a quick bite or a sit-down meal. We've been here for a long time now.
