Star Leather

If you go down to 8 Topsia Road in the south part of town, you’ll find us. Star Leather is a small operation, mostly focused on the actual work with the hides. We’ve been in this 700046 area for years. The shop smells like leather and tan, which is something you get used to after a few days. It’s not a showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a workshop where we handle the material. We deal with different types of leather, mostly for local needs. Sometimes people come in looking for specific scraps or want to see how we do things. It’s a bit messy at times with all the tools and offcuts lying around on the benches. We aren't big on talking ourselves up, we just focus on the leather. The neighborhood is full of workers like us. We keep the doors open during the day so a bit of air gets in. It’s hard work, and your hands get dirty, but that’s the trade. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. Most people find us by walking down Topsia Road or through word of mouth from other shops nearby. We’ve got a couple of old machines that still run great. If you’re looking for high-end retail, this isn't it. But if you want to see where the real work happens, we’re here. We just take it day by day.
