Sourmet Hut

Sourmet Hut is a small spot at 174/1/5 Netaji Subhas Chandra Road in Regent Park, 700040. If you know South Kolkata, you know this road is always moving and full of energy. It’s a tight space, but we make the most of it. We aren't trying to be one of those big, polished cafes you see in the malls. This is just a regular shop where we do things our own way. The building is older, and you can feel the character of the neighborhood when you walk in. Most of our customers live just a few blocks away. They stop by on their way home from work or while they are out getting groceries. We spend a lot of time just prepping and making sure everything is in order. It’s a lot of manual work. We don't have fancy machines doing everything for us. The noise from the street is always there, but you get used to it after a while. Sometimes the rain in Kolkata makes things a bit messy out front, but we just sweep it out and keep going. We are a small team, just a couple of us who have known each other for a long time. We don't really have a big plan for the future, we just focus on making sure the current day goes smoothly. It’s a humble little hut, and that’s exactly how we like it. Nothing too complicated, just a part of the local community.
