If you are looking for Silver Oak Restaurant, you will find us at number 200 on Sarat Bose Road. We sit right across from the post office here in the 700029 area of Kolkata. It is an old part of the city with a lot of history in the buildings and the streets. Our restaurant has been here for a good while, serving the people who walk these sidewalks every day. The post office across the street is a good landmark for people who haven't visited us before. Inside, the walls are simple and we keep the lighting soft enough so it feels relaxed. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a few of us making sure the food is ready and the plates are clean. Every morning starts with the same routine of checking the supplies and lighting the burners. Sarat Bose Road can get very busy with cars and buses, especially during the peak hours, but inside it stays relatively calm. We have some regulars who have been coming since we first opened our doors. They usually sit at the same tables. We don't try to be something we aren't. It’s a basic setup where you can get a meal and a drink. We focus on the daily tasks and making sure things run smoothly from the time we open until we lock up at night.
