Shree Shyam Dhaba

Our dhaba is located at 11, R B C Road in Dum Dum, Kolkata. We are very easy to find because we are right near the Central Jail bus stop. If you are waiting for a bus or just passing through the area, you have probably seen our sign. Kolkata is a city that never really sleeps, and this part of Dum Dum is always buzzing with activity. We have been here for a long time, serving basic meals to whoever walks through the door. It is a dhaba, so do not expect anything polished or corporate. We have simple tables and chairs, and the kitchen is right there where you can see it. We get a lot of workers, bus drivers, and travelers who are looking for a quick and filling meal. The noise from the street is always there, but we have gotten used to it after all these years. Sometimes the rain in Kolkata gets so heavy that the water starts coming in near the entrance, and we have to move the tables around to keep people dry. We don't have any big mission or vision statement. We just cook food every day and hope people like it. My family runs the place, and we do everything ourselves, from buying the vegetables to cleaning up at night. It is hard work, but it is what we know. It is a bit noisy, but that is Kolkata.
