Oh Calcutta Restaurant

If you head up to the 4th floor of Forum Mall on Elgin Road, that’s where you’ll find Oh Calcutta. We’ve been in this spot for quite a while now, right here on Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani. Being in a mall means things are always moving, and we get a lot of shoppers who need a break from walking around. It’s a bit of a trek up to the fourth floor, but there are elevators. We focus on the kind of food people in Calcutta grew up with, or at least our version of it. The kitchen is always busy with a lot of pots on the heat. We aren't trying to be the trendiest place in the mall, we just want to serve a good plate of food. The staff here has been around the block a few times, so we know how to handle the lunch rush. Sometimes the mall is quiet, and sometimes it's absolutely packed with people on the weekends. We just keep the doors open and the rice steaming. It’s a decent sized space, so we can fit quite a few people, but it still feels like a regular restaurant once you're inside. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just cook, serve, and clean up at the end of the night. It's what we know how to do here on Elgin Road, and we’ve been doing it a long time now.
