My Little Kitchen Restaurant

My Little Kitchen Restaurant is right on Dum Dum Road, sitting across from the Club Town Estate. If you are heading towards the Hanumanji Mandir, you will see us right there at 87/2 in the Motijhil area. It really is a little kitchen, just like the name says. There isn't much room to move around once the staff gets in and we start the burners. The smell of oil and spices is always hanging in the air, even after we close up for the night. We get a lot of local folks coming in from the nearby buildings, and they usually want something quick and hot. The pavement outside is always cracked and people are constantly dodging the traffic on the main road. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place clean because the dust from the street comes in every time the door opens. Our tables are old and the fans on the ceiling make a bit of a rattling noise when they are on the highest setting, but they keep the air moving. We aren't one of those big places with a lot of staff; it is just a few of us doing the cooking and the serving. Every morning starts the same way with a trip to the market to get what we need for the day. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with the heat, but we’ve gotten used to it.
