Mouchak Restaurant

Mouchak is located at 64 Jessore Road in the Motijhil area of Kolkata. If you know the 700074 area, you know how crowded Jessore Road gets throughout the day. It’s one of those parts of town where the noise of the street never really stops. Our restaurant is right there in the middle of it. We have been here for a good number of years now. The interior is quite simple, with the kind of wooden chairs and tables you see in many local Kolkata spots. We don’t go for anything modern or flashy. There are some old fans on the ceiling that have been spinning for years. Motijhil is a busy hub, and we get people coming in from all walks of life. Some are just passing through on their way further into the city. The walls are a bit faded, and we haven't changed the layout in a long time. It feels familiar to the people who live nearby. We don't spend money on fancy flyers or big neon signs. The name is just painted up there for people to see. We focus on the daily work of cooking and cleaning up. It’s a bit of a squeeze when it gets busy during the lunch hour, but people don't seem to mind. It’s just a typical, honest restaurant in a very busy part of Kolkata. We just keep doing our thing day after day without much change.
