Millenium Leather

Millenium Leather is situated at 62/T, Tiljala Road, right on the first floor. Being on the first floor means we spend a lot of time carrying bundles of leather up the stairs, which can be quite tiring by the end of a long day. The whole building has that distinct smell of leather and dye, which we don't even notice anymore, though visitors always mention it. The workspace is pretty basic. We have a couple of long tables for inspecting the hides and a small corner with a desk where we keep the ledger and the phone. Tiljala Road is a very busy, industrial part of the city, so there is always the sound of machinery and horns honking outside. We’ve been in this same spot for years and the landlord is a nice guy who lets us be. Our windows are small and don’t let in much light, so we have to keep the fluorescent tubes on all day. We don't have a fancy showroom or a place for guests to sit. Usually, if someone comes by, we just stand around and talk shop. It’s a very practical environment. We focus on the quality of the leather and making sure the orders are packed correctly. My brother helps out with the accounts, and we have a few local guys who come in to help with the heavy work. It’s just a simple, hardworking life here in the middle of the city.
