Canton Tannery

Our place is at 47, South Tangra Road. If you’ve been to this part of the city, you know it has its own smell and feel. Canton Tannery has been part of the landscape here for quite some time. The building shows its age, but it’s sturdy. We spend our days dealing with the materials and the machines. It’s messy work, to be honest. Our hands are rarely clean by lunch. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. Most people who come by are here for business, so they don't mind the clutter. The road outside is often busy with cycles and carts. We’ve grown used to the noise. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of work being done. We don't bother with fancy titles or corporate meetings. We just talk across the floor when something needs doing. Canton Tannery is just a group of people who know their trade. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but our spot stays pretty much the same. Sometimes we have tea together in the afternoon when things slow down. It’s a long day, starting early and finishing when the light goes. We don't have a grand story to tell. We just do what we know how to do at 47 South Tangra Road. It’s honest work and it keeps us going.
