Leathercon

Leathercon is based at 4 Chowringhee Lane, inside Diamond Chambers. We are up on the fourth floor, in Block 1, Room 4 'O'. It’s a bit of a maze in this building if you aren't used to it. We have been here for a long time, working with leather goods and materials. The room is usually filled with the smell of hides and the sound of people talking. We don't have a fancy showroom or a big staff of salespeople. It is mostly just us handling the orders and making sure the quality is what it should be. The lift in Diamond Chambers can be a bit slow, so we often tell people to be patient when they come to visit us. We are right in the middle of a very old and busy part of Kolkata, which has its own charm and its own set of problems. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when it rains too hard, but we just move the stock and carry on. We don't believe in spending a lot on fancy decor. We’d rather focus on the actual products we handle. Most of our business comes through word of mouth from others in the trade. We keep things simple and try to be as helpful as we can to anyone who reaches out. It’s a small, honest operation and we’re proud of the work we do here on Chowringhee Lane. We just try to get things right every single day for the people who buy from us.
