You can find us at 506/1 Lake Gardens, up on the first floor. It’s a nice area with a lot of trees around, and the building itself is an older one. We’ve been here for a while, running the Milinda Foundation. The space is filled with old wooden furniture and stacks of files. It’s not a corporate office at all. We spend a lot of our time talking to people who come in or organizing things for the community. The windows look out onto the street, and we often keep them open to let the breeze in. It gets a bit noisy when the school nearby lets out, but we don't mind. We aren't a big organization with a lot of staff. It’s mostly just a few of us who care about what we’re doing. We don't have a fancy website or a glossy brochure. If you want to know what we do, you just have to come by and chat. We drink a lot of water because it gets humid in the afternoons. Sometimes we have volunteers helping out, and the place gets a bit crowded. We just take it one day at a time. It’s a humble place, and we like it that way. We just try to be useful where we can without making a fuss about it. The floorboards creak a little when you walk, but that’s just the character of the building. We focus on the daily tasks and see what needs doing next.
