Mahal Restaurant

We are located at 6/3, Ramana Majumdar St, which is part of the Raja Ram Mohan Roy Sarani area in Kolkata. Our place is called Mahal Restaurant. If you know this part of the city, you know the streets are narrow and full of history. We are right in the thick of it. It’s an old-fashioned kind of neighborhood where everyone knows each other. Our restaurant isn't very large, but we make the most of the space we have. We’ve been here for quite some time, and the walls probably have a lot of stories to tell. We don't use any corporate talk here. We are just a local eatery where you can get a meal without spending too much. The kitchen is small but we keep it very busy throughout the day. You can hear the sounds of the city right outside our door—the rickshaws, the people talking, and the general bustle of Kolkata near the 700009 district. Most of our customers are people who live or work nearby and come in for a quick lunch or a tea. We don't have a polished website or big advertisements. We just rely on the fact that people know where we are and what we do. It’s a bit cramped sometimes when it’s raining or during the lunch rush, but it feels like home to us. We just keep the stove going and the plates clean.
