Little Scholars

Little Scholars is right on Sarat Bose Road, specifically at 20B, near Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani. If you know Kolkata, you know this road is always moving. There is a constant sound of yellow taxis honking and people walking quickly on the sidewalks. Our building is right in the middle of all that energy. It’s an old-school neighborhood in many ways, even with all the modern shops popping up around us. The entrance is right there on the main stretch, so we see everything that happens on the street throughout the day. In the mornings, the air is often thick with the smell of breakfast from nearby stalls and the general bustle of the city starting up. Inside the school, we try to keep things organized, though with children around, it’s rarely perfectly quiet. The rooms have high ceilings and that specific Kolkata character you don't find in newer developments. We spend a lot of time just managing the flow of people in and out, especially since Sarat Bose Road doesn't have much room for stopping. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes, but we’ve made it work for a long time. It’s a very human place where we know the neighbors and the people who walk past our gate every single morning. We just keep our heads down and do the work of running the school.
