Khabi Boys Primary School

We’ve been here on Shibrampur Road in Behala for quite some time now. Khabi Boys Primary School is just a small place where local kids come to start their learning. It’s a boys' school, so things get a bit loud during the breaks, but that’s how it is with young children. Our building isn't anything fancy, but it does the job. Most of the families living around here know us well. Some of the parents even came here themselves when they were little. The morning starts early with the bell, and then you hear the classes going on until the afternoon. We focus on the basics like reading and math because that's what's needed at this age. The street outside can get a bit busy with traffic, but once the gates are closed, it’s mostly just the sounds of the kids. We have a few teachers who have lived in Kolkata their whole lives. They know how to handle the boys when they get restless. Sometimes the fans don't work perfectly in the heat, but we manage. There is a small space for playing, though it’s not a big field. We try to keep things organized, even if it feels a bit chaotic on rainy days when everyone is squeezed inside. It’s just a regular neighborhood school. People stop by to ask about admissions or just to say hello while walking down the road. We are part of the local community here in the 700034 area. It's not a perfect place, but it works for us and the families here.
