Khager Dihi Primary School

Khager Dihi Primary School is located at 234 Diamond Harbour Road. Being in Behala means we are right in the middle of everything. This is a primary school, so our students are all quite young. They come in with their heavy bags every morning, and the place stays busy until the final bell rings. We have been operating from this address for a long time. The building shows its age in some spots, with a bit of peeling paint here and there, but it’s a sturdy place. We don’t have a lot of extra space, so every corner of the school is used for something. The teachers here are used to the humidity and the noise from the main road. We don't try to be something we aren't. It's just a local school for local families. Most of the kids live within walking distance. We teach them the standard subjects and try to keep them disciplined. It's funny seeing the younger ones try to sit still for more than ten minutes. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows wider to let the air in. There’s a sense of routine that everyone expects. Parents often drop by after work to pick up their children or talk to the staff about how things are going. We know most of the names of the people who live on this stretch of the road. It feels like a small village inside a big city. We aren't fancy, but we are here every day.
