Kidzee Pre School

Our school is located at Be-76 on Street No. 174 in the Newtown area of Kolkata. It’s a residential-feeling street, which is nice because it doesn't feel as hectic as the main roads. The building is easy to spot once you get onto Street 174. Inside, we have set everything up to be as simple as possible. We have the usual collection of toys that are missing pieces and books that have seen better days. Every morning we go through the same routine of checking the supplies and making sure there’s enough soap in the dispensers. The kids start arriving around 9:00, and from then on, it’s a whirlwind of activity. We spend a lot of time helping them with their shoes and making sure they don't trip over each other. It’s a small team here, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from answering the door to cleaning up after snack time. The walls are covered in some of the work the kids have done, which makes the rooms look a bit more cheerful. We don't have any fancy technology or anything like that, just basic stuff that works. The afternoon is usually the hardest part of the day when everyone is tired and wanting to go home. We just keep things moving until the last parent arrives at the gate. It’s a honest day’s work for all of us and we are quite tired by the end.
