Kidzee Play School Kompally

If you find yourself in Action Area 1 of New Town, you’ll likely pass by D D 257 where we are set up. This part of Kolkata feels a bit more open than the older sections, but it still gets its fair share of noise. The school is basically a set of rooms where we spend our days dealing with a lot of energy. We don't have a massive team, just a few of us who know each child's name and which cubby belongs to who. The morning starts with a bit of a rush at the door, and then we settle into the usual tasks. We spend a lot of time sitting on the floor because that’s where all the activity happens. There are blocks everywhere and sometimes we step on one, which isn't great. The walls have some drawings taped up, some of them a bit crooked, but we leave them that way. We keep a close eye on the front entrance and make sure the door handles are clean. New Town can get quite dusty with all the construction nearby, so we are constantly sweeping the entryway to keep it tidy. It is a very straightforward place to work. We don’t do anything too complicated, just follow the schedule and make sure everyone gets their lunch on time. By the end of the day, the place looks well-used and we start tidying up for the next morning. Sometimes we are still here late just sorting through the craft supplies.
