Kiduz Preschool

Kiduz Preschool is based at number 25 on Khardha Thana Road. We are right in the middle of the 700116 area of Kolkata. The school is in a typical local house that has been adapted for kids. It has a bit of a garden area, though it’s mostly just some pots and a bit of grass. We spend our mornings teaching the little ones their ABCs and 123s. It’s a small operation with just a few teachers and some helpers to keep things clean. We don't have a big budget for advertising, so we mostly rely on people walking past and seeing our sign. The classrooms are simple with mats on the floor and small tables. We have a lot of drawings pinned to the walls. The neighborhood can be a bit noisy with the police station and the market nearby, but we’re used to it. Sometimes we have to deal with power cuts or water issues, just like everyone else in the city. We just deal with it and keep the kids busy. Most of the parents work nearby, so drop-off is usually a quick affair. We try to be flexible with the families because we know how life can be. It’s a plain, honest school where kids can learn the basics without any fuss. We don't have any uniforms for the teachers, we just wear regular clothes. Sometimes we all have tea together when the kids are napping. It's a nice little community we've got going on here and we're happy to be part of the street. Everyone knows each other here and it feels quite right.
