Kids Play School

We are situated on Diamond Harbour Road, right in the Joka area of Kolkata. It used to feel like the very edge of the city, but it’s growing so fast now. There’s a lot of construction and new buildings going up all around us every month. Our play school is a little sanctuary away from all that dust and the heavy traffic noise. We have a small yard where the kids can run around when it isn’t too hot outside. Inside, we have rooms filled with toys, mats, and little wooden tables. It’s a very local operation. Most of the teachers live just a few blocks away in the neighborhood. We see the same parents every morning at the gate, mostly people who work in the city and drop their kids off on the way to the bus stop or the metro station. It gets pretty loud during snack time when everyone is talking at once. We don’t have any fancy equipment or bells and whistles. We just focus on keeping the children happy and occupied throughout the morning. The 700104 area is becoming a busy hub, but we try to keep a relaxed vibe inside the school for the little ones. Sometimes the local stray dogs hang out near the entrance, and the kids like to wave at them through the gate. It’s a very typical neighborhood scene. We’ve been here long enough to see the first kids we ever had grown up and move on to high school.
