Kid'S Paradise Play School

You can find us at 144 E in Kalikapur. This part of Kolkata is always moving, with a lot of shops and people on the streets at all hours. Our play school is right in the middle of it all. It’s a small place, but we make the most of the rooms we have. We get kids from the nearby apartment blocks and the houses further down the lane. It’s noisy from the moment we open the doors until the last child goes home in the afternoon. We have some swings and a slide, though they’ve seen a lot of use over the years and the paint is a bit faded. The walls are painted with bright colors, mostly cartoons that the kids seem to like. It’s not a place where everything is perfect or perfectly clean, because that’s just impossible when you have twenty three-year-olds running around. We spend our days helping them learn their ABCs and making sure nobody gets a bumped knee on the playground. Sometimes the parents stay for a bit to chat at the gate before heading to the market. It’s a friendly, local atmosphere. We don’t have a massive campus or anything, just a cozy setup where the neighborhood children can socialize and play. Living and working in Kalikapur means dealing with the humidity and the traffic, but once you’re inside with the kids, you kind of forget about the noise outside. It’s just a normal, busy school day for us.
