Kiddies Garden Nursery School

You’ll find Kiddies Garden Nursery School over at 58/1, Panchantala New Road. It’s in the Adarsha Pally area of Belgharia, which is mostly houses and narrow lanes. It’s a quiet spot compared to the main roads. We started this place because the neighborhood needed somewhere for the small children to go during the day. The building is just a regular house that we turned into a school. We have a few rooms for the different age groups. The walls are painted, though some parts need a bit of a touch-up because kids like to touch everything with their messy hands. There’s a small area where they can run around, but it’s not a big park or anything. We spend a lot of time just sitting on the floor with them, showing them letters or playing with blocks. Most of our students come from the nearby blocks in Adarsha Pally. Their parents walk them over in the morning. It’s a very local thing. We don't have a big bus or a fleet of vans. People just walk or come on cycles. The mornings are usually full of the sound of rhymes being sung, sometimes a bit out of tune. By the afternoon, the heat starts to pick up and the street outside gets quiet. We tidy up the toys, wipe down the tables, and get ready for the next day. It’s a plain, honest place where we just look after the kids while they learn.
