Khukurdaha P.P.B. Primary School

Out here in Birati, on M B Road, things feel a little different than the center of the city. Khukurdaha P.P.B. Primary School is at number 8. It’s a standard primary school setup. We have the usual routine of morning prayers and then classes. The building is older, and you can see the history in the walls. We have a small area where the kids can stand during the break. M B Road can get quite busy with rickshaws and bikes. We hear the honking all day long. In the rainy season, the road gets some puddles, and we have to make sure the kids don't splash around too much. The teachers have their own small room where we keep our bags and the registers. We drink a lot of tea to keep going. The children are mostly from the local families nearby. We know their parents and their siblings. It’s a very close-knit feeling. We don't have any high-tech equipment. It’s just books, pencils, and chalk. Sometimes the roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard, so we move the desks around. We just handle things as they come. When the day ends, the gates are locked, and the street stays busy while the school goes quiet. It’s a simple life for us here in Birati. We have been doing this for many years now and the routine stays the same.
