Khaiber Restaurant

If you are walking down Circus Avenue, you will find us at number 13. We are right near the Bangladesh High Commission, which means there is always a lot of activity around the street. People are constantly coming and going for their paperwork and meetings. Khaiber Restaurant has been sitting on this corner for a bit. It’s not a very big place, just enough room for a few tables and chairs. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy with the daily rush to get to it right now. Kolkata heat can be something else in the summer, so we keep the fans going as much as we can for the customers. Most of our customers are folks working in the offices nearby or people visiting the embassy for the day. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just the kitchen in the back and the seating up front. Sometimes it gets loud with the traffic outside on the Lower Range, but that’s just part of city life. We don't do much advertising at all. People usually just walk in because they are hungry and see us there. We try to keep things moving fast because everyone is in a hurry in this city. It’s a plain, honest spot to sit for twenty minutes. No one expects anything flashy from us, and we don't try to be something we aren't. Just a local restaurant doing its thing every day. We hope the food is enough for them.
