J. J. Gold House

Our office is on the third floor of Ideal Plaza, up at S-305. Sarat Bose Road is always a mess with traffic, so we usually hear the honking all day long even from up here. We have a small suite that we’ve turned into our workspace. It’s mostly just desks, a safe, and some chairs for people to sit. We spend a lot of time looking at prices on the computer and weighing things. It’s a quiet office for the most part, except for when the phone rings or when the elevator dings down the hall. We aren't a big jewelry store with windows on the street. People have to come up the elevator and find our door. It’s a bit more private that way, which works for us. The walls are a plain off-white color and we have a few plants that haven't been doing so well lately. We try to keep things simple here at J. J. Gold House. We aren't into big marketing or anything. We just deal with gold and talk to our regulars. Sometimes the tea guy from the canteen downstairs brings up some snacks. It’s a pretty basic routine. We show up, do the math, talk to the customers, and then head back into the traffic at the end of the day. It’s just a job, but we like the people we meet. Each afternoon is about the same.
