You can find us at 318 Madurdaha, over in the Kalikapur East Township area. This part of Kolkata feels a bit different from the main city center; it’s a bit more spread out and mostly residential. Our restaurant is a small building where we serve the local people who live in the nearby apartments and houses. It isn't a place where people come for a big party or a fancy night out with friends. It is mostly for families who want a night off from cooking or for office workers who live nearby and want a simple dinner. We keep the decor very simple with just some basic tables and a few fans on the ceiling to keep the air moving during the summer. The menu is mostly traditional items that people are used to eating every day in their own homes. We don't spend money on advertising or shiny brochures to get people in. People usually hear about us just by walking past on the street or from their neighbors who eat here. The kitchen is right at the back, and you can usually hear the sound of the pressure cooker or the pans clanking throughout the day while we prep. We have a small team of workers who have been with us for a few years, and they just go about their business quietly without any fuss. It’s a relaxed, no-nonsense kind of place.
