Indthalia Restaurants

Down at 16 Gariahat Road, right near the Dhakuria Bridge, you’ll find our restaurant. It’s a busy corner of Kolkata, and the sound of the traffic on the bridge is something you just get used to after a while. We’ve been here at this Dhakuria spot for some time now. The building is older, and it has that specific feel of this neighborhood. We don’t go in for all those modern, shiny things you see in the malls. It’s just a plain dining room with some tables and chairs where people can sit down for a meal. The kitchen is always humming with noise. We spend our mornings getting the ingredients ready and setting things up before the lunch crowd starts trickling in. Being near the bridge means we get a lot of commuters and locals who live in the nearby lanes. It’s a very grounded kind of place. We don’t have a marketing department writing fancy stories about us. We just open the shutters, cook the food, and serve it to whoever comes through the door at number 16. Sometimes the fans are working hard to keep the heat away, and other times the monsoon rain is drumming on the roof. It’s just life in Kolkata. We’re glad to be part of the Gariahat Road scene. It’s a lot of effort every day, but it’s what we know how to do.
