Ginger Restaurant

This Ginger Restaurant is located at 104 S P Mukherjee Road in the Kalighat area of Kolkata. We are very close to Basusree Cinema, which is a place almost everyone in this part of the city knows about. Kalighat is a very old and busy neighborhood. There is a lot of history on these streets and you can see it in the old buildings and the way people talk. We have been here for a while and we see the same faces every day. It is a simple setup with tables and chairs and a kitchen that stays busy from morning until night. I usually sit near the front and watch the trams and buses go by on S P Mukherjee Road. Kolkata is a city that loves its food, so we try to keep things consistent. We don't have a big mission or a corporate strategy. We just cook the food and hope people like it enough to come back. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to do it yet. It’s a bit cramped when it gets busy, but that is part of the charm of a local Kolkata eatery. We just keep things moving and try to stay out of the way of the chaos outside.
