Chickys

Our place is called Chickys and we are located at 102 S P Mukherjee Road in the Kalighat area of Kolkata. We are right near the old Basusree Cinema, which is a place almost everyone around here knows. Kalighat is one of the busiest parts of the city, and our shop is right in the middle of all that noise and energy. We have been here for a while, and the shop has a lot of character, even if it’s a bit small. Every morning, the street starts buzzing with trams and people, and that is when we start our day. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing everything. It is just a few of us working here, so we all have to do a bit of everything. The place gets quite hot, especially with the Kolkata humidity, but we have some fans to keep the air moving. We don't have a corporate office or any fancy marketing plans. We just write our menu on a board and serve whoever walks through the door. A lot of our customers are locals who have been coming to us for years, along with some people who are just passing through the area. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide food in a busy part of town and try to make an honest living. It’s a lot of work, but it’s what we do.
